Aboriginal Health Services

There are multiple services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people being funded by Country SA PHN. The areas of funding include:

Funding has been provided to some Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to deliver a more holistic Chronic Disease Management program within their communities. The funding provides increase access to Allied Health Professionals and Specialist Services, additional staff to existing CDM teams to assist in the coordination of health services in chronic disease and training and development of staff in these areas.

Service Providers include:

  • Ceduna Koonibba Aboriginal Health Service
  • Oak Valley Health Service
  • Tullowan Health Service
  • Umoona Tjutagku Health Service Aboriginal Corporation

Funding for Health Promotion, Illness Prevention and Early Detection has been provided to some Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.  These agreements have been negotiated with the organisations involved who had identified the particular needs of their communities and services and designed their funding around those needs.

Service Providers include:

  • Ceduna Koonibba Aboriginal Health Service
  • Nganampa Health Council

A variety of Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs services are being provided by Aboriginal organisations in order to provide services specifically to Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander people.

Service Providers include:

  • Aboriginal Sobriety Group
  • Far West Aboriginal Women's Council Incorporated
  • Nganampa Health Council
  • Ninkowar Inc
  • Pangula Mannamurna
  • Umoona Tjutagku Health Service Aboriginal Corporation

The Country SA PHN Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs team manages the service agreements for these services, while the Aboriginal Health Policy Team provides cultural advocacy advice.

Funding has been provided to Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to deliver services provided through Silver Connections.

Service Providers include:

  • Ceduna Koonibba Aboriginal Health Service

Silver connections is managed by the Country SA PHN Regional Strategies and Service Design team, while the Aboriginal Health Policy Team provides cultural advocacy advice.
